April 12, signature of the hawks The Atlanta Falcons have agreed to a contract with Anthony Verckers.
Verker is just another former Titan who played with coach Arthur Smith in Tennessee to join the Falcons.
Verker, 27, spent the first four seasons of his career at Tennessee and earned 34 passes for 291 yards and two touchdowns. He is expected to play the barrier role in a lot of two tight groups alongside Kyle Bates.
12 April Beginning of DT . visits Defensive tackle free agent Vincent Taylor visits the Hawks, the NFL Network reports. Taylor (6-3, 311) started with the Texans in the first week of last season before suffering an ankle injury towards the end of the season. Taylor, 28, was in the sixth round of the dolphins selection in 2017 from Oklahoma State.
April 9 new numbers The Atlanta Falcons have officially announced new jersey numbers for their free agents who are signed through April 7.

For the first time in his career, Mariota will wear a number other than the number 8, which Kyle Bates wears with a narrow end.
April 9 Hackens dead Former Washington quarterback Dwayne Haskins died Saturday, apparently as the victim of a car crash.
Haskins was captured with the 15th pick by Washington in the 2019 NFL Draft. He showed moments of ability, but his inconsistent play and issues off the field led to a lack of confidence in the capital. He was released by Washington at the end of the 2021 season and then found his way to Pittsburgh.
Haskins was the third choice behind superstar Ben Roethlisberger and backup Mason Rudolph this past season. But Roethlisberger just retired, which in theory would have opened up the possibility of a full restart of Haskins’ career.
Haskins, who was training in Florida where he was destitute, dies a month after his 25th birthday.
April 8, Falcons signing with Mike Ford Falcons announced the signing of DB Mike Ford on Friday afternoon.
Ford, who turns 27 this season, played 13 games with the Denver Broncos last season on special teams. Prior to his year in Denver, Ford spent three seasons with the Detroit Lions.
Ford is expected to compete for one of the team’s final spots during training camp.
April 8, dolphins predict Thomas Morstead Thomas Morstead, a former Atlanta Falcons player, has agreed terms with the Miami Dolphins.
Morstead played in the Falcons’ last seven games last year after he was cut by the New York Jets. Prior to last season, Morstead spent the first 12 seasons of his career with the New Orleans Saints.
With Morstead moving to Miami, the Falcons last year had coaching team gambler Dom Maggio on the list to be the team’s key player this season. However, it’s still early days in free agency and the team can look into other options with free agency and draft.
April 4, the hawks’ signature at Pew Brinkley The Hawks agreed to terms with long snapper Boo Brinkley in a one-year deal, According to Aaron Wilson of the Pro Football Network.
Brinkley spent the 2012-20 seasons in Tennessee with Falcons head coach Arthur Smith.
The move comes after Pro Bowl longtime snapper maker Josh Harris signed with the Los Angeles Chargers earlier in the season.
