Late night TV presenters Jimmy Fallon and Jimmy Kimmel made a surprising joke on fans on Friday when the duo switched talk shows for April Fools’ Day.

Fallon was hosting Jimmy Kimmel Live! Show while Kimmel hosted The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon.

The plan has been in place since 2020, but was only possible now after the interruptions with the Covid-19 pandemic.

The hosts traveled across the country to carry out the epic prank, with Fallon usually hosting in New York and Kimmel in Hollywood.

“This is a wild experience, but it was an amazing one,” Fallon told Kimmel before the duo went on to host each other’s show. “I love that we did it. I can’t believe we made it.”

The sudden exchange stunned their fans.

Studio audiences were stunned before the duo video call each other from each other’s shows to discuss the switch.

Fallon brought his good friend Justin Timberlake, who appeared as his guest and sprayed “I (Heart) Matt Damon” onto Kimmel’s desk.

The pair also shared one of Kimmel’s most popular clips, the “Celebrity Mean Tweet”, instead highlighting the “sweet tweets” they received on Twitter.

In New York with new host Kimmel, he sat down with Hugh Jackman to play the Tonight Show “Box of Lies.”

Comedian Bridget Everett also appeared as a guest.

And at the end of both shows, they all shared a moment where the audience could sit down when Red Hot Chili Peppers served as the special musical guests for both.

The Jimmys previously collaborated on a satirical PSA that clears up the common misconception that they are the same person promoting Kimmel’s show moving to Brooklyn for one week in 2019.
