For years, Jimmy Fallon and Jimmy Kimmel were as wrong as one another. For them, it was a constant joke. So, for this year’s April Fools’ Day, they decided they should switch places. Jimmy Kimmel hosted The Kimmel Show, Jimmy Kimmel hosted The Fallon Show yesterday as an April Fools’ joke.

Jimmy reached out to each other while they were in a soliloquy to discuss and celebrate the prank. They stated that they had been working on this prank since April 2020. They both shared that fans were in shock that the wrong Jimmy came to host the show.

We switched everything up. We exchanged shows, bands, and even wives, Jimmy Kimmel joked.

With the switch, they even switched coasts as The Fallon Show is in New York City, and Kimmel’s Show is based in Los Angeles, California. They also switched networks with Fallon usually on NBC and Kimmel starring on ABC.

Fallon joked about his one-night assignment on ABC, “Fridays on NBC, I’m going after ‘Dateline,’ which is a show about people who kill their husbands, so it’s good to be after ‘2020’, a different show than People They kill their husbands.”

Fallon and Kimmel also had a joke together at Kimmel’s residence to take pictures with Jimmy. In the photos, Kimmel and his friend Guillermo were posing for pictures with fans. In an sometimes unremarkable swap, Jimmy Fallon has switched over with Kimmel. Fans were lucky enough to meet both Jimmy Fallon and Jimmy Kimmel.

The late-night comedians were apparently thrilled at the success of their pranks. They both enjoyed the transformation they had finally seen come to fruition.

Here are the monologues from both shows:
