After collapsing in the Dallas Mavericks season finale on Sunday against Tottenham, Luka Dongic Suffered a calf injury, MRI confirmed.
The NBA All-Star team received an MRI yesterday that showed he had strained his left calf during the game. Currently, a timetable for his return has not been set, but notably, he has yet to be left out of the MAV’s 1 game against the Utah Jazz on Saturday.
“If he can go out and put his shoes on, he will go,” Mavs coach Jason Kidd He said earlier today. “If he can’t, we won’t put him in a situation that puts him in danger and makes things worse.”
Dončić’s injury is a huge blow to the Mavericks and their playoff chances. The Mavs finished the regular season fourth in the Western Conference and are scheduled to play the Jazz on Saturday, as reported. If Dončić can’t get back to that game, formerly Brooklyn Net Spencer Dinwiddy It will start in its place.
A source told ESPN that there was initial optimism that Dallas star Luka Doncic had not suffered a major injury. The team calls it a tense left calf.

“I know my usage is going to go up, but it’s a team effort,” Dinwiddy said. “I don’t expect to bear the full burden.”
With just over two minutes left in the third quarter of Sunday’s game (2:24 to be exact), Dončić appeared to grab a calf in pain, and called for a timeout. Although the Mavs still went on to win that match 130-120, at that point it was clear that something was wrong with Dončić.
Dončić had an impressive 2021-22 season with the Mavs, averaging 28 points, 9 rebounds, and nearly 9 assists per game. Now, all the loyal Mavericks wish him a speedy recovery so he can rejoin the team again, and push the Mavs into a deep playoff.
