Doncic predicted he would miss match 2 against the Jazz

Despite the absence of Luka Doncic on Saturday, the Dallas Mavericks played valiantly in a narrow 99-93 defeat to the Utah Jazz. Doncic, the two-time NBA first-team guard, trained on Sunday, but is expected to miss Monday’s game two of the Western Conference quarter-finals due to a calf strain. With Doncic likely out, the Jazz are a 5.5-point favorite over the Mavs at BetMGM.

Injuries will also play a decisive role in Philadelphia, where the Sixers will face the Raptors in Game 2 of their Best of Seven series. Multi-skilled junior Scotty Barnes is expected to miss Monday’s game with an ankle injury. Late in the series 1-0, the Raptors may also have to star in the series without Gary Trent Jr. and Thaddeus Young, who were listed as suspects on Sunday. After a 131-111 win over the Raptors on Saturday, the Sixers were the favorites by 7.5 points over Toronto at Caesars Sportsbook.

Finally, in Monday’s late game, the Warriors will be looking to take a 2-0 lead over the Nuggets after winning with a 16-point win on Saturday. Steph Curry scored 16 points in his first game in a month, while Jordan Paul finished with 30 points on his debut in a playoff game.

The Warriors’ new junior ball lineup made up of Klay Thompson, Andrew Wiggins, Draymond Green, Curry and Paul appeared together for just five minutes in Saturday’s win. But during the key period in the second quarter, Golden State outperformed the Nuggets by 14 while seizing the momentum just before the break.

It remains to be seen how often Warriors coach Steve Kerr will use the squad for the remainder of the playoffs. On Monday night, the Warriors were 7 points clear of the Nuggets in FanDuel, while Golden State’s odds of winning an NBA title at FanDuel dropped to +550. As of Monday afternoon, the Warriors are FanDuel’s third choice, behind the Suns and Bucks.

California referendum takes center stage at gaming conference

Now in its 35th year, the Indian Games Trade Fair and Convention ranks every year as the preeminent event in the annual Indian Games calendar. When this year’s four-day conference begins on Tuesday, the California sports betting debate is expected to dominate the conference.

Last year, three disparate groups submitted proposals in California that would allow mobile sports betting across the state. After a busy schedule on Tuesday, a committee on Wednesday titled “Election 2022: Sports Betting in California” will address issues related to the competing ballot initiatives in November. The committee, directed by conference president Victor Rocha, will include three California tribal gaming executives.

If sports betting were legalized in California, it could result in an annual handle of over $20 billion, according to various estimates.

Celtics Al Ain lead 2-0 against Nets

The opener of the first-round playoff of the Celtics-Nets series lived up to the hype they experienced on Easter Sunday when Jason Tatum’s throw at the bell beat the Celtics 115-114. Tatum led the Celtics with 31 points and eight assists in a thrilling Game 1 win.

With the victory, the Celtics are now favorites for 2202 in SuperBook Sports to capture the series. The Nets, who rebounded on Sunday from a 15-point deficit in the third quarter, will try to win a split road on Wednesday night. Kyrie Irving led the net on Sunday with 39 points and six assists.

Irving’s interactions with the Celtics’ home crowd at Sunday’s loss add juice to an already exciting series.

Preferred Hutchinson as Caesars’ Top All-NFL Pick in Caesars

Unless you’ve been living in an underground bunker without Wi-Fi for the past three months, you probably realize that the NFL Draft will begin a week from Thursday, April 28.

Buoyed by an amazing big season in Michigan, defensive end Aidan Hutchinson emerged as Caesars’ best player to be named with the No. 1 overall pick. The Heisman Cup runner-up had a -220 chances as of Monday afternoon to become the number one overall.

Hutchinson scored 14 sacks last season in leading Michigan to the college football game. Hutchinson, who attended high school in Dearborn, Michigan, appears to be a good fit for both Jacksonville and Detroit, the top two picks in the draft.

Georgia defensive end Travon Walker is next at +140, followed by two offensive linemen, NC State enters Ikem Ekwonu and Alabama tackles Evan Neal. Ekwonu has +1200 odds to go first, while Neal is listed at +1400, Oregon defensive end Kayvon Thibodeaux is at +2500, and Liberty quarterback Malik Willis is at +3000.

Willis is a slightly favorite over Pittsburgh’s Kenny Beckett to be the first quarterback to play in the draft.

First quarterback to be selected (Caesar)

  • Liberty quarterback Malik Willis (-130)
  • Pittsburgh midfielder Kenny Beckett (+130)
  • Cincinnati quarterback Desmond Reader (+1000)
  • Ole Miss Quarterback Matt Coral (+2500)

Have a good week all!
