Steelers QB wife Dwayne Haskins announces celebration of life

The celebration of life will take place for late Pittsburgh Steelers champ, Dwayne Haskins, on the final leg of his NFL career on April 22.

Through a Steelers spokesperson, Haskins’ Calabria widow announced that the event will take place at the Allegheny Center Alliance Church, with visitation at 10 a.m. local time and service at 11 a.m. All who “want to pay their respects to Dwayne” are invited to attend, as well as family, friends, colleagues and coaches.

I would like to express my sincere gratitude to every loving soul who has supported our family during this difficult time of loss. Overwhelming thoughts and prayers have been fuel for our emotional drain. All of your blessings have been valued and appreciated. The purposeful touches and influences that Dwayne has as a husband, son, brother, teammate and friend are a timeless treasure ingrained in our hearts. I am truly grateful to everyone who stood by our side as we mourn his untimely passing. Our family begs for your continued prayers, with respectful privacy continuing as we mourn deeply.

My husband was more than a great footballer. He had a rainbow smile that touched the diversity of many. He will rest forever and remain in our hearts until the end of time. His eternal love will always be with us, Ohio State and the leaders of the Washington and Washington Nation forever! The love of my life, forever… Rest in the beautiful peace of heaven!

We will be holding a celebration of Dwayne’s life on Friday, April 22, at the Allegheny Center Alliance Church in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. We invite family, friends, colleagues, coaches and those who would like to pay their respects to Dwayne to visit from 10 to 11 a.m., followed by the Service of Life Celebration from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Haskins’ parents also announced a memorial service to be held the day after to celebrate life at Christ Church in Rockaway Township, and the vigil is also scheduled for the following day on April 24 at Haskins High School, Police School, in Potomac, Maryland.

Haskins passed away last Saturday while training in Florida with his Steelers teammates for next season. Little is known about his death after he was hit by a dump truck while trying to cross a highway on foot in Broward County for unknown reasons, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

His death was met with an outpouring of emotion for the player who rose to stardom in one season as the Ohio State quarterback, entered the NFL as the first draft round, and played for the Washington Commanders & Steelers in his three years. professional profession.
